Most commercial glass cleaners work well. This non-commercial one does too – better than some of the commercial ones! It’s easy to make with a few simple ingredients you likely already have on hand, it’s less toxic than most of the commercial stuff, and it’s considerably cheaper. This is what I’ve been using for years now – it might take a couple of extra squirts and a good buff relative to at least some of the commercial cleaners, but the glass comes out crystal clear – the results shine for themselves!
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup 70% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol
1 tbsp. corn starch
Directions:
Mix all ingredients well in a spray bottle and have at it.
Seriously Though, Corn Starch?
The one ingredient that sort of stands out & throws people for a loop is … of course … corn starch. What it does is provide a wee bit of grit to cut through the extra grimy spots. Just make sure to give the bottle a little shake before use if it’s been sitting a while.
Enjoy!
